Greetings from Indian Maritime University!

  1. Indian Maritime University (IMU), a Central University in India, is striving to expand the scope of Guideship for MS (By Research) and Ph.D Programmes of IMU, to experts from Universities under International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU) to foster foreign collaboration in the field of Research and Development in the Maritime Sector.
  2. In this regard, Indian Maritime University invites applications from desirous Experts from such foreign institutions working in the field of Maritime & its allied fields to act as Guide/Supervisor or Co- Guide or to be Member of the Doctoral Committee for the Research scholars of IMU.
  3. The guidelines for empanelment of Foreign Guides for MS (By Research) and Ph.D Programmes in IMU shall be as follows:-

  • The Expert/Faculty shall be a regular employee with a minimum service of 2 years of experience in the respective Institution or University.
  • They should have a Ph.D. degree and their field of specialization and expertise shall be related to maritime domain or areas contemplated for research by IMU.
  • The faculty/Expert shall be recognized as a Ph.D. guide/supervisor by their respective institute/university.
  • At the time of consideration, the faculty should be guiding/supervising at least one Research Scholar at their respective institute/ university and shall preferably provide a record of at least one Ph.D. candidate who has obtained a Ph.D. degree under his/her guidance.
  • The faculty/ expert should have published at least two research papers in internationally reputed journals with high impact factor (Minimum 1) and good index after completion of Ph.D Programme.
  • The empanelled foreign guide shall be required to attend all the meetings pertaining to Doctoral Committee, Comprehensive Viva, synopsis submission, Viva-Voce, etc. through virtual/online mode.

  • Remuneration for foreign guides shall be as given below:
