From July 11 – 13th, IAMU sponsored 45 students from 34 different countries to participate in the 2023 Student Forum at the International Maritime Organization headquarters in London, England.
The forum was a resounding success, as the students were able to work with academic facilitators and industry partners in order to produce professional presentations on a variety of topics related the theme of “MARPOL at 50. ” Such topics included the sustainability of maritime education and training, MET in the digital age, greener shipping, gender equity and diversity, working conditions at sea, marine resource protections.
Following the work at the IMO, the students were able to visit the Greenwich Observatory and Maritime Museum.
