The Working Group on the comprehensive review of the STCW Convention and Code held its 1st in-person meeting at the IAMU Secretariat in Tokyo, Japan, on 19 and 20 June 2025.
Prof. Radu Hanzu-Pazara (CMU), Prof. John Cross (FMIMUN), Prof. Andrea Russo (US-FMS), Capt. Anand Ravi (AMC) and Yusuke Mori (IAMU Secretariat) met to discuss the potential cumulative impacts on the academic programme expected from a review of the STCW Convention and Code, as well as detailed possible proposals under Chapters 2 and 3 of the Convention. The members also discussed the issues related to the model course development. The first two days of physical meetings were concluded successfully.
