The third consecutive international and interdisciplinary lifelong learning program – summer school titled β€œSustainable development of the yachting and cruise industry” was successfully completed on July 6, 2024 at the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor. The participants of this year’s summer school were from Montenegro and Slovenia.

Lectures and demonstration exercises were organized at the Faculty, the Institute of Marine Biology, as well as in the Port of Kotor. During their stay in the Port of Kotor, the participants had the opportunity to attend practical classes on the cruise ship “Vista” of the Oceania Cruises company.

In addition to professors and associates from the University of Montenegro and the University of Camerino from Italy, experts from the yachting and cruising industry presented themselves to the participants through a multidisciplinary approach, theoretical lectures and practical activities.

Finally, the participants were presented with their certificates by the founder of the summer school, Prof. Dr. Danilo Nikolić, the Head of the Summer School, Dr. Maja Škurić, and Dr. Tena Božović, the representative of the Port of Kotor. On that occasion, they congratulated the participants on their success in the final exam and encouraged them to become ambassadors of the summer schools in their institutions and countries.

The summer school “Sustainable Development of the Yachting and Cruise Industry,” was organized with the aim of sustaining the results of the Erasmus+ project, “Fostering Internationalization at Montenegrin HEIs through Efficient Strategic Planning (IESP).” We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the Port of Kotor for its support and cooperation in implementing the program over the past few years.
