Further to the below communication concerning the postponement of IMO meetings, and as a result of the ongoing situation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the following meetings have now been postponed until further notice:
.1 Sub-Committee on Human Element Training and Watchkeeping (HTW) 7 (1 to 5 June 2020);
.2 Technical Cooperation Committee (TC) 70 (15 to 18 June 2020).
The IMO Secretariat will continue to monitor all developments related to COVID-19 and following advice provided by the World Health Organization and the host Government. Rescheduling of the meetings listed above will be announced in good time for delegates to make appropriate arrangements. Further updates about upcoming meetings will be provided in due course.
Additionally, the Secretary General wishes to advise that the thirty-first Extraordinary Session of the Council is in progress and is being held by correspondence, to address the disruption caused by the pandemic, for the endorsement of the urgent actions taken thus far, as well as the subsequent steps that may be necessary in the immediate future. The proceedings of this extraordinary session are available on IMODOCS and the record of decisions will be available as soon as possible.
