The 4th Kotor International Maritime Conference – KIMC 2024 was held from 27 to 29 November 2024. The Organizer of the Conference was the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor (University of Montenegro), together with the Municipality of Kotor and Port of Kotor as co-organizers.
The Conference opening was also the Ceremonial Academy for celebrating the 65th anniversary of the Faculty of Maritime Studies. In addition to the Faculty and national Montenegrin officials, the introductory speeches were given by Professor Takeshi Nakazawa, executive director of IAMU, and Mr Matej Zakonjšek, director of Transport Community Permanent Secretariat.
The Conference gathered over 200 authors and co-authors from over 20 countries. Thematic sessions held on 28th and 29th November comprised over 70 research abstracts, with additional 18 presented within the student section. The best student presentations were awarded and the international juries were composed of academics and industry professionals.
In addition to thematic sessions, the Conference included two panel discussions and a presentation of an e-simulator developed by professors and professionals from the Faculty of Maritime Studies Kotor and a private company dealing with AI and gaming.
In addition to exchanging professional and research information, the Conference provided a great opportunity for further networking among IAMU members, as well as MET and research institutions and maritime companies and organizations in general.
