City history museum MUHBA, includes several Roman archaeological sites.
The Barcelona School of Nautical Studies began its activity in the Barceloneta (fishing-men district) on June 26th, 1769. In 1770 the School already had 23 students and in 1772 it had 2 teachers. At present, since 1990, the Barcelona School of Nautical Studies is attached to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (BarcelonaTech) and has over 90 teachers and 800 students. The current building of the Faculty, of neoclassical style and located in the Pla de Palau dates from 1932 and is the work of the architects Adolf Florensa and Josep Vilaseca.
