At March 13-15, 2024, 21 simulator instructors from ten countries gathered at Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden for an IAMU Simulator Instructor Camp, a competence development in maritime simulators. The IAMU ad-hoc working group on simulator training organized the camp as one of their annual activities.
The camp was largely conducted in small groups, with each group developing a common simulator exercise, allowing participants to learn from each other while developing their professional networks. The evaluation of the camp was very positive, and the Net Promotion Score (NPS) for the question “How likely are you to recommend participating in a future simulator instructor camp to a friend or colleague?” was 89, an extremely high score. The ad-hoc working group will plan for another IAMU Simulator Instructor Camp within a year.
