IAMU is pleased to share information about an upcoming international student competition promoting maritime innovation and sustainability, organized by the École Nationale Supérieure Maritime (ENSM).
Presentation of the HYDROCONTEST by ENSM – 2026 Edition
The HYDROCONTEST by ENSM is an international event dedicated to maritime innovation and the energy transition, organized by the HydroContest by ENSM Association, supported by the École Nationale Supérieure Maritime (ENSM) in partnership with the maritime web magazine Jeune Marine.
The 2026 edition will take place from April 28 to 30, 2026, at the Stade Nautique Florence Arthaud in Marseille, France.
This event will bring together students, professionals, and maritime stakeholders around two major student competitions:
⚙️ HydroContest Design – a prototype design competition aimed at imagining more efficient and environmentally friendly vessels.
🌍 Retrofit Challenge – a case study conducted in partnership with CMA CGM, focusing on the decarbonisation and operational innovation of existing ships.
In addition to these competitions, the program will include:
📢 Conferences and round tables dedicated to innovation and sustainable maritime technologies,
⚓ Career promotion activities, designed to introduce young people to the diversity of maritime pathways and professions.
The HYDROCONTEST by ENSM aims to inspire, unite, and highlight the next generation of maritime engineers and innovators, while fostering international cooperation around a shared goal: a more sustainable maritime transport industry.
