On 25 June 2025, AMET Institute of Science and Technology (AMET-IST) marked the Day of the Seafarer with a vibrant series of activities celebrating maritime heritage, cadet excellence, and the spirit of seafaring.

The event began with a welcome speech by the Principal, emphasizing the importance of young cadets in sustaining the maritime industry. The celebration featured a wide range of student performances and interactive events, including beatboxing, dance, poetry, and singing — all reflecting pride in the seafaring profession.

Mentors shared personal stories from their life at sea, offering cadets insights into the realities and rewards of maritime careers. Technical activities such as a seafarer-themed quiz and a firefighting drill demonstrated cadets’ knowledge and emergency readiness.

A fun dumb charades game, poster display, and prize distribution ceremony added excitement to the day. Throughout, AMET-IST highlighted resilience, teamwork, and dedication — qualities that define seafarers around the world.
