The Visit of the Secretary General of IMO

From 24th May till 26th May 2007, Mr. Ethimious Mitropoulos, the Secretary General of International Maritime Organization (IMO) of the United Nations Organization, visited Ukraine. The main aim of his visit was familiarization with development of maritime industry in Ukraine.
Mr. Mitropoulos officially visited the city of Odesa on the 25th May 2007.
During his stay in Odesa, he visited Odesa National Maritime Academy and met staff of the academy. Mr. Mitropoulos was conferred the degree of Honorary Doctor of Science of Odesa National Maritime Academy. Following the conferral, Mr. Mitropoulos gave a lecture to the academic staffs, cadets of the academy and representatives of he maritime community of Ukraine. The title of the lecture was: "International Maritime Organization: modern state and aspects of development".
At the end of official meeting there was conference of the Secretary General of IMO with the representatives of mass media.
