Annual General Assembly 2000 - Istanbul

The Inauguration Annual General Assembly (AGA1) was held on 26-29 June, 2000 at Istanbul Technical University in Istanbul. Some 30 maritime universities/faculties gathered at the conference and agreed to work collaboratively on the following major issues of maritime education, training and research:

1. To improve maritime education and training systems for the next generation,
2. To develop a new field of maritime safety management system, and,
3. To promote global maritime excellence in maritime education.
